Vincent “Vince” Nativio, 79, of Monticello, FL, died on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Big Bend Hospice House in Monticello, FL.
He was born on December 4, 1943 in New Castle, PA, to the late Domineck Nativio and the late Mary (Linko) Nativio.
Vince was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam.
He attended Elizabeth Baptist Church in Monticello, FL.
Vince spent his free time volunteering at the local animal shelter; Pickett Lake Children’s Camp and at the Eagles Wing Food Pantry.
He is survived by his brother, Anthony (Jeanette) Nativio of Monticello; sister-in-law, Pat Nativio of Ocala, FL; nieces, Linda Nativio of Ocala, FL, and Renee Bottomly of Ocala, FL; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Nativio; niece, Cynthia Van; and nephew, Gerald Nativio.
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home with Fr. Paul Lisik as celebrant on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Dunbar, PA, with military honors accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Vincent’s name to Dozier Hospice House of the Big Bend, Tallahassee, FL or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
