MELISSA 'LISS' RENEE MATTHEWS

Melissa Renee “Liss” Matthews, 24, of Uniontown passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in her home.

She was born on July 3, 1997 in Mount Pleasant, PA to Thomas O. Matthews and Jennifer K. Pressacco Matthews Caldwell. 

She attended Cove Run Church and was a 2015 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School.

She will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving girl who was beautiful both inside and out. She had a huge heart; could make anyone laugh; was carefree and could never hold a grudge. She had many friends whom she treated just like family. Anyone that had the privilege of knowing her, loved her. She will be dearly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her stepmother, Roseann Matthews and stepfather, Steven Caldwell; her children, Greyson Priester and Ivory Priester; stepchildren, Quashawn Priester Jr., King Zamari Priester  and Lyric Priester; the father of her children, Quashawn Priester Sr.; siblings, Tally Matthews, Keri Matthews, Kaylen Caldwell, Emma Caldwell, Briar Baker, Tessa Baker and Thomas Baker; grandparents, Roy (Sandy) Matthews, Carol Pressacco, and Sue Moore; step-grandparents, Jeff (Amy) Caldwell, and Bernice Caldwell; nephews, Curtis Fitzgerald, Cooper Stewart, and Jackson Baker; special cousins, Lacie, Alicia, Karlie, Dalton, and Tiffany, as well as several other cousins, aunts and uncles. 

She was predeceased by her Pappy, Jess; grandfather, Paul Philllips; uncle, Pete Phillips and niece, Alaizha.

Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will then be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.

The family asks for both photos and memories of Melissa to be shared with them at the visitation. There will be a photo board to post your photo(s), and a memory box available in which to place your memories.
