DANIEL F. McDONOUGH

Daniel McDonough, 89, of Dunbar, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA. 

Dan was born May 12, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Irish immigrants, the late John McDonough and the late Martha McHale McDonough. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Costello McDonough; seven brothers and one sister. 

Dan and June raised five children together and they are survived by Kathleen Neumann, Daniel and Mary Ellen McDonough Jr., Colleen Makridis, Eileen Wood and Maureen McDonough, as well as eight grandchildren and two great grand children.

Dan grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh and attended North Catholic High School. Dan was drafted into the Korean War and served in the Army Airborne in occupied Japan. 

He was a life long member of Insulators Local 2.

Dan is also survived by his loving partner of over twenty years, Jean Camp. He grew close with Jean's children Sandy, Butch, Shelly and Greta, as well as their extended family. 

Dan and Jean enjoyed traveling, eating out and going on  trips to the casino.  He was an avid sports fan and a Pittsburgh Steeler season ticket holder.  Dan, a devout Catholic, was a member of St. Aloysius R. C. Church in Dunbar. He enjoyed Irish music, the game of chess, and telling a good story. 

Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Friday, April 15th, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be held at a later date.
