Charles David “Dave” McDowell, 75, of Connellsville, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at home.
He was born April 2, 1946 to the late William H. McDowell Sr. and the late Dolly Showman McDowell.
Dave was a longtime railroad worker, most recently employed by CSX. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies in his free time.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Burnsworth McDowell; children, Brenda McDowell and Bonnie (Shawn) Wingrove; grandchildren, David, Joshua, Travis, Brittany (Ryan), and Garrett; great grandchildren, Christopher, Alayna, Danica, Bentley, Daxton, Rowan and Maverick; siblings, William H. McDowell Jr., Nancy Leonard, Tom McDowell; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sons, David Charles McDowell and William Stafford; grandchildren, John J. Miller and Ashley M. Eans; siblings, Garnet Stull, John McDowell, Sam McDowell and Mark McDowell, as well as his baby girl, his dog, Tia.
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, noon to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 9, 2022, 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Immediately following Wednesday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
