ARTHUR PAUL BROOKS

Arthur “Paul” “Hump” Brooks, 76, of Dunbar, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 17, 2023, at home. 

He was born on February 23, 1947, in Connellsville, PA, to the late Arthur “Tick” Brooks and the late Coriena (Bryner) Brooks.

Paul loved people, and he loved his hometown of Dunbar where he could be seen daily, walking and visiting with it’s residents. He always had a smile and a wave to share; it didn’t matter whether you knew him or not. He had many friends and loved to talk to with everyone. When given the opportunity, he also loved to dance!

He was loved by all that had the privilege of knowing him in some way, big or small. He was a very special, loving man who will be greatly missed.

He was a member of Dunbar Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Dunbar Historical Society. 

Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his siblings, Sylvia Ellsworth of Uniontown, Resa (Ray) Hixson of Mt. Pleasant, David (Lori) Brooks of Dunbar, Olive Phelan of Dunbar, who took care of him, Melba (Joe) Plesz of Leisenring and Ronald Brooks of Dunbar; many nieces, including his special niece, Leslie Brooks who also took care of him; nephews; great nieces and great nephews; cousins and many, special friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Brooks, Shirley (Charles) LaPorte, Leslie Brooks, Alice Breakiron, Asa Brooks, Allyn Brooks, and infant brothers, Herbert and Albert Brooks. 

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,  the hour of service, with Pastor David Douthitt officiating. 

Private inurnment to take place at a later date in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, PA.
