WILLIAM H. MATTHEWS

William H. Matthews, 84, of Lemont Furnace, PA, died March 31, 2022 at home. 
He was born in Uniontown, PA, on February 9,1938, to the late William Herbert Matthews and the late Rose Marie McNatt Matthews.
William worked as a welder for Steel Scaffolding until his retirement. In his spare time, he most enjoyed hunting with his sons. 
He is survived by his significant other, Catherine Danko; his children, Pam (Peter) Metts, Rose (Jonathan) Johnson, William (Debra) Matthews, Bart (Sherry) Matthews, Brett (Emma) Matthews and Sally Matthews; six grandchildren, Dion, Brice, Peter, Logan, Evan and Mariah; sister, Rose Elma Bell; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sarah Catherine Yealey Matthews; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Kelsey Matthews and sister, Alpharetta Konicki. 
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA, on Monday, April 4, 2022, noon to 8:00 p.m. 
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor John Broadwater officiating.
Interment will take place at Zaring-Matthews Cemetery, Mount Independence, PA, following Military Honors accorded by Hopwood Amvets Post 103.
