RUTHANNE (SMITH) LANCASTER

Ruthanne Lancaster, 81, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, in her home.

She was born December 27, 1942, in Connellsville, PA, a daughter of the late Wayne and Sadie (King) Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Sherman; sisters, Kathy Redmond and Vicky Hagerty; and her beloved "cutie pie" (her dog).

Ruthanne was a member of the Valley Sportsman's Club in Oliver. She enjoyed taking care of her animals and hunting.

She is survived by her children, June Sherman and her children, Ronald Nicklow, Jr., Amanda Nicklow and MaryBeth and husband Tim Friend; Robin Nehela, husband Joseph and children, Amy Bogdewic, William Nicklow and wife Suzann; Virginia Sherman and children, Amber Stewart, Robert Abadejos, and Tara and Alex Abadeios; Robert Sherman Jr. and Ada and children, Jesse Powell, Samantha Etling, and Dustin Sherman; Georgia Eans husband David and children, Krista Newhouse and Sam, Ray Wirick and Jamie Blaire, and Terry Mcnelis and granddaughter Tiffany Kerr. Ruthanne is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
