ROBERT PATRICK TRIMBATH SR. Obituary

Robert Patrick “Pat” Trimbath, Sr., peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 17, 2024, at the age of 83.

Pat was born on July 22, 1940, to Mary Alice (Grady) Trimbath and George Edward Trimbath in Connellsville, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Connellsville High School in 1958, where he cherished his time as a member of the swim and football teams.

Following high school, Pat began his career with the Dunbar-owned water authority, serving diligently as a water treatment plant operator and line crewman for eight years. His dedication to public service then led him to proudly serve with the Pennsylvania State Police for three years.

However, Pat ultimately found his true calling with the North Fayette County Municipal

Authority, where he served as the chief superintendent for 36 years until his retirement in 2007.

Even after retiring, he remained active by driving a school van for Jospeph Konetsco Inc., enjoying the daily interactions with the children on their way to and from school.

Pat’s dedication extended beyond his professional career. He was a devoted member of the Dunbar Volunteer Fire Department and an active participant and lifetime member of the Dunbar Historical Society.

His civic involvement also included serving on the boards of the Dunbar Community Library, and the North Fayette County Municipal Authority. Additionally, he was an elected member of the Dunbar Borough Council.

Pat had a lifelong passion for softball and continued playing well into adulthood, creating cherished memories with friends and family alike.

Pat was a loving husband to Anna Marie (Chernitsky) Trimbath for 65 years; a caring father to R. Patrick Jr. (Natalie), Lynn, and Paul (Monica); a beloved grandfather “PapPap” to Leanna (Jeff) Kaiser, Monica (Amelia) Marsh, Michelle, Matti, Robert III, George, John, and William Trimbath; great-grandchildren, Madi and Miranda Kaiser, and London Marsh.

Known for his quick wit, Pat had a knack for humor and storytelling, always ready with a joke or an amusing anecdote to brighten someone’s day. He was a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an avid dog lover.

He was a faithful member of St. Aloysius R. C. Church in Dunbar, PA. His favorite story to share was his selection as an altar boy by Sister Electa, as he lacked the singing ability required for the choir.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Monica, grandson Turner, and brother George.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at Mt. Macrina Manor, the priests at St. Aloysius Church, and the caregivers from Amedisys Hospice, including, Dr. Canada, Tiffany, Joyce, and Pastor Mike, for their exceptional care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to any of the following, the Dunbar Historical Society, Dunbar Community Library, or Mt. Macrina Manor.

Pat’s kindness, dedication, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Pat’s life and legacy.
