ROBERT EUGENE ‘BOB’ HALL SR

Robert Eugene “Bob” Hall Sr., 84, of Vanderbilt, PA, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, in WVU Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA. 

He was born August 19, 1938, in Connellsville, PA, to the late Robert Turner and the late Thelma Pearl Hall.

Robert served in the United States Army. Upon his return, he went on to become a construction laborer for the Local Union 1058 until his retirement in 2001. To call him "hardworking" wouldn't have done his work ethic justice. He never missed a day of work, always putting in long days; leaving in the dark hours of the morning and returning after the sun had set for the day. He was a kind man that would do anything for anyone. 

In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and hunting for "mergels". He also really enjoyed working on cars and playing cards.  

He will be remembered fondly as a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was loved far more than he could ever have imagined. 

Robert is survived by his children, David (Vicki) Marks, Debra (Patrick) Richardson, Robert (Renee) Hall Jr. and Beth (Tom) Currey; grandchildren, Brandi (Scott), Kelli (Zach), Amy, Rachael (Tyler) and Lyndsey; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lily, Aubrie, Nathan, Bentlee, Bentley, Chance and Cooper; siblings, Beatrice “Sally” Hair, Phyllis “Teenie” Wingrove and Rita (Cliff) Hall as well as many nieces and many nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Jones) Hall, and his brothers, Gerald “Pooch” Hall, Melvin “Spike” Smalley, Ralph “Jomp” Smalley, Bill Darnell, and Darrell Hall.

Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA on Sunday, July 2, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, July 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Lee Maley officiating. 

Private Inurnment at a later date in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, PA.
