Ricky P. “Rick” Butler, 70, of Leisenring, Pennsylvania, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1955, and was the beloved son of the late Genevieve (Myers) and Benjamin Butler.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Cynthia (Preston) Butler; his children, Blair Butler (Brandy), Brea Corcoran (William), and Erica Kennedy (Mark); and his brother, Roger Butler (Judy). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren: Hunter, Evan, Chase, Gage, Mackenzie, Luke, Knoxley, and Evie. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Marley, Addison, Langston, Waylon, Ellis, and Audrey. Rick is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
Rick dedicated many years of his career as a quality inspector for jet engines at TP&M for Pratt & Whitney, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Rick found his greatest joy in life’s simple blessings. He loved spending time fishing and had a special talent for building and restoring pieces from old antiques. His home, affectionately known by family as the “Cracker Barrel house,” was filled with the treasures and stories he collected over the years.
One of Rick’s greatest gifts was his voice. He spent the majority of his life singing for his school and church choirs, as well as a few quartets. For more than twenty years, he sang Southern Gospel music as an original founding member of Canaanland, sharing his love for the Lord and touching countless hearts through song. His music, faith, and the joy he carried will remain a lasting memory for all who were blessed to hear him sing.
The family finds comfort in the promise of Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we take peace in knowing that the voice that once filled our homes with gospel songs is now singing in Heaven. One day, when we meet again, we will hear that familiar voice once more—and it will feel like coming home.
He spent his life singing about Heaven. Now, he is finally home.
Rick will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
