PHILLIP D COOPER

Phillip D. Cooper, 77, of Lemont Furnace, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

He was born in Dunbar, PA, on August 29, 1947, to the late Franklin Cooper and the late Esther (Lehman) Cooper.

Phillip loved the outdoors, especially pheasant and deer hunting.  

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Lena (McGregor) Cooper; three children, Brenda (Samuel) Yauger, Shawn (Sandy) Cooper, and Frank Cooper; ten grandchildren, Tiffani, Kimberly, Justin (Arista), Shawn Jr., Joshua (Felicity), Nicole (Aaron), Maranda (Nicolas), Kayleigh (DJ), Todd Jared, and Rose; fourteen great-grandchildren, Elliott, Jackson, Benjamin, Addison, Kaiden, Kyler, Ali, Brooklyn, Alexis, Liam, Olivia, Lucas, Owen, Allianna, and Andrew; two sisters, Sharon (Pat) Monahan and Kathy Dugan and two brothers, Ken Cooper and Steve Cooper and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Todd Phillip Cooper; grandson, Samuel Charles Yauger; brothers, Gerald Cooper and Farrell “Butch” Cooper; brother-in-law, Ray Dugan, and sister-in-law, Bernise Cooper.

Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Travis Edgar officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by Masontown American Legion Post 423.  

Interment to follow at Cove Run Cemetery, Lemont Furnace, PA.
