LINDA NAHAR Obituary

Linda Melvina (Camp) Nahar, 82, of Dunbar, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in WVU Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA.

She was the daughter of the late Ethel B. (Camp) and the late John M. Johnston to whom she was born on August 1, 1942, in Connellsville, PA.

She was retired from the Intermediate Unit 1 of Fayette County where she worked for fourteen years, as well as an at-home notary public which she did for forty-seven years.

She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; going out to listen to country music, having parties at home; and going to her grandkid’s school activities. Another favorite pastime was bowling. She bowled for the Wild Cats bowling team.

Additionally, she became a member of the Dunbar Historical Society in February of 2023.

Linda will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, James R. Nahar and wife, Linda (Skelton), Martha (Nahar) Thomas, and husband Clyde R. Jr., Tammy (Nahar) Smitley, and Raymond Nahar, and partner Andrew Karfelt.

Her grandchildren, Amy (Thomas) Dennis and husband, Thomas, Lori Nahar, Misty (Nahar) Moore and partner Jordan Nichols, Leah Smitley, Tabatha Nahar, Julia Smitley, and Ronald Thomas and wife Sara (Leonard).

Her great-grandchildren, Katie Peterson, Ethan Dennis and Kensley, Lauren Dennis, Ryan Dennis, Ronald Thomas Jr., Nathan Thomas, Camron Thomas, Dalila Nahar, and Liam Nichols.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life to whom she was married for fifty-nine years, her husband, James Edward Nahar, who passed away on June 4, 2018; son, John Robert Nahar; granddaughters, Rachel Smitley and Christina Thomas; sister, Brenda Camp; maternal grandparents, Charles F. and Maude (Hiles) Camp, and her maternal great-grandparents, Jacob and Nancy (Bodkin) Hiles; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Opal Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Martha McKnight and son-in-law Ernie “Bert” Smitley.

Private visitation and private funeral with Pastor Lee Maley officiating were held at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA.

Private interment took place in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, PA.
