Edmund F. Pavlosky, 96, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Dunbar, to the late Andrew Pavlosky and the late Francizca Zintarsky Pavlosky.
A Navy World War II veteran, serving aboard numerous destroyers in the Pacific Theater, Seaman 2nd Class Pavlosky, earned a commendation for saving his ship from a Japanese cruiser.
After the war, he held various jobs until he became an independent truck driver, where for 30 years he hauled steel between New York, Detroit and Pittsburgh.
Edmund is survived by four generations of nieces, nephews and cousins; his wife’s son, Ronald (Yolanda) Albright and grandson, Wesley Albright; and his devoted caregivers, Lisa, Toni and Lori.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Albright) Pavlosky; brothers and spouses, Steve (Pauline), Casimir (Margaret), Joseph (Felicia), Theodore (Marie), and Bernard (Rita); sisters and spouses, Mary, Wanda, Anne, Helen (Floyd) Karmanowski, Sophia (Harry) Zawacki, and Martha (John) O’Bannon; nieces, Anthoinette Lowery, Frances (Roy) Neumann and Patricia Karmanowski; nephews, John (Lena) and Eugene Karmanowski; great-nephew, Chad Alan Burgoyne.
In keeping with Edmund’s wishes, there will be NO PUBLIC VISITATION OR SERVICE. He will be buried with his beloved wife, Norma, in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
