Wayne Dennis “Denny” “the bus driver” Howarth 81, of Dunbar, PA, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in Waynesburg Health & Rehab, Waynesburg, PA.
He was born on February 1, 1943, in Connellsville, PA, to the late Wayne Howarth and the late Geraldine (Cunningham) Howarth.
He was a member of Pechin Community Chapel in Dunbar, PA.
Denny was a school bus driver for T. A. Nelson Bus Lines of Connellsville, PA, for fifty-three years where he was a loyal, dedicated employee who was passionate about his life’s calling. He loved his students as if they were his own. Denny saw multiple generations of students to and from school over the years and will be fondly remembered by all who had the honor of riding his bus.
In addition to his time spent driving school bus, Denny worked for Paul Miller bundling and delivering newspapers as well as working for him at Miller Truss LLC building and delivering trusses.
In his personal time, he was passionate about bowling and belonged to multiple leagues; enjoyed spending time with friends sitting at the Laurel Mall, belonged to a CB club, and thoroughly enjoyed any and all time spent with his family.
He is survived by daughter, Mary (Snyder) (Dave) Weimer, son Brandy Snyder and girlfriend Beth Porterfield; grandchildren, Ray Ritenour, Dana Weimer and boyfriend Tyler Williams; great-granddaughter Morgan Ritenour; sisters, Diana Mickey and Pamela Howarth and niece, Haylei (Jase) Meier.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Snyder; son, Henry Snyder, and brother-in-law Walter Mickey.
Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. the hour of service with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
Interment to follow at Franklin Cemetery, Dunbar, PA.
