BARBARA ANN (WELSH) POKOPEC

Barbara Ann (Welsh) Pokopec, 79, of Connellsville, PA, died on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in WVU Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA. 

She was born on September 28, 1945, in Cumberland, MD, to the late Raymond G. Welsh Sr. and the late Monica Rose (Callahan) Welsh. 

In her working years, Barbara excelled as a nurse, something she took tremendous pride in. She was an advocate for her patients and was very well-liked by the families of those whom she cared for. 

In her personal life, family meant everything to her. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she always sent presents along to her nieces and nephews; she loved big and with her whole heart. 

Barbara is survived by her loving son, Jason (Billie) Pokopec; granddaughter, Monica Pokopec (Rah-Sheem Eddings); great-granddaughter, Emersyn Eddings; siblings, Monica Helinski, Lawrence “Pat” Welsh, Virginia “Ginny” Bell, Judith (Chuck) Berry and Chrissy (Rod) Lauer; brother-in-law John Sansone; nieces and nephews, Eric Sansone, Gina Sansone, John (Jen) Helinski, Jimmy (Debbie) Bell, Christin (Steve) Vitalie, Matt (Kristie) Helinki, Monica Helinski, Patrick (Shannon) Berry, Aubbrey (Jared) Walter, Travis (Kelly) Lauer and Christopher (Jolene) Berry. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey Vincent Pokopec; siblings, May Ellen Sansone and Raymond G. Welsh Jr. as well as brother-in-law, Bill Helinksi. 

In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, PRIVATE SERVICES WERE HELD, at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, PA. 

Private Inurnment took place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, PA.
