ARLENE FAY (MARTIN) SHOEMAKER

Arlene Fay (Martin) Shoemaker, 85, of Dunbar, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at home.

She was born on March 31, 1938, in Dunbar, PA, to the late George Martin and the late Emma (Butler) Martin.

Arlene belonged to Dunbar Baptist Church in Dunbar.

She is survived by her husband, Edward “Ray” Shoemaker; children, Laura Prodente, Tammie (Mike) Bryner, Eric (Jill) Shoemaker, Wendy (Bill) Large, Kent (Kristi) Shoemaker and Neil (Brook) Shoemaker; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen, soon to be seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Shoemaker; son-in-law, Fred Prodente and two brothers.

Friends will be received at Burhans-Crouse Funeral Home, 28 Connellsville Street; Dunbar, PA, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Robert Wrachford officiating.

Private interment to follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, PA.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Arlene’s neighbor, Janet Maloy, who was always there for her; willing to lend a helping hand and care for her any time she needed it.

They would also like to thank Amedysis Hospice and especially Crystal and Nicole for the care that they provided for Arlene.
